In the critic of poem or novel translation, culture is repeatedly emphasized and now the following paper will discuss ad translation from the culture perspective. The author summarizes three main cultural elements which influence the reception of a translated ad: ethos, pathos and reason appeal. And suggests some methods to translate cultural images, that is, keep them in AT, or substitute, or supplement them with those of the target language, especially, parody can be regarded as a very useful method in ad translation.
